- Avoid eating or drinking hot foods or beverages until the numbness has entirely dissipated.
- Do not smoke or take alcohol or other recreational drugs while you are taking pain medication for treatment of your tooth.
- The tooth may be tender for several days as a result of the manipulation during treatment. Should you experience discomfort that cannot be controlled with the medications, or should swelling develop, please contact us immediately.
- Rinse your mouth with warm salt water (one-half teaspoon of table salt to one glass warm water). Repeat several times each day until tenderness is gone.
- Avoid chewing on the treated tooth until all tenderness has disappeared.
- Avoid eating any sticky food or hard food from the side of the treated tooth.
- Should pain become severe or should swelling develop or any other condition that causes you concern, please contact our Clinic at any time, including after office hours.
- Brush your teeth as usual.
- CROWN/CAP is mandatory for RCT treated tooth as the tooth becomes non-vital and brittle as well as to protect the remaining tooth structure for a long time.
